Please read these terms carefully before using HiveAmp.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using HiveAmp (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and HiveAmp (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms apply to all users of HiveAmp, including community members, admins, and moderators.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use HiveAmp. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, are not prohibited from using the App under applicable law, and have not previously been banned from HiveAmp.

3. Your Account

Account Creation

You may sign up using Sign in with Apple or an email address. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access at support@hiveamp.com.

Usernames

Usernames must be unique and may not impersonate another person, use trademarked terms, or include offensive content. We reserve the right to reclaim or modify usernames that violate these guidelines.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use HiveAmp to post false or misleading content, harass or threaten other users, spam or advertise without authorization, impersonate another person, distribute malware, scrape data from the App, gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts, post illegal content, or engage in fake endorsement schemes.

5. Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you post (“User Content”). By posting, you grant HiveAmp a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content to operate and improve the App.

Content Standards

All User Content must be accurate, lawful, and respectful. You are solely responsible for what you post. We do not pre-screen User Content but may remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Communities

Community administrators and moderators agree to enforce these Terms fairly and consistently, not abuse moderation powers, maintain a constructive professional environment, and remove content that violates HiveAmp’s Terms. HiveAmp reserves the right to remove communities or revoke admin privileges where violations occur.

7. Reputation, Endorsements & User Interactions

HiveAmp provides a platform for users to post asks, receive endorsements, and connect with others. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • HiveAmp does not verify the identity, credentials, qualifications, or claims of any user
  • Reputation scores and badges are algorithmic and informational only — they do not constitute a professional endorsement by HiveAmp
  • HiveAmp is not responsible for the accuracy of any user-generated content, advice, referrals, or connections made through the platform
  • You assume all risk when engaging with other users, acting on advice received, or entering into any arrangement facilitated through HiveAmp

HiveAmp expressly disclaims any liability for outcomes arising from user interactions on the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

HiveAmp and its licensors own all rights to the App, including all software, design, trademarks, logos, and content created by HiveAmp. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials without express written permission. The HiveAmp name, logo, and bee mark are trademarks of HiveAmp.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the App. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination except where immediate action is required. Upon termination, your license to use the App ends.

10. Disclaimers

HiveAmp is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that results will meet your expectations, that user-posted content is accurate, or that advice obtained through the App will be beneficial.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HiveAmp shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Dispute Resolution

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY — IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Binding Arbitration: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of HiveAmp shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court.

Class Action Waiver: YOU AND HIVEAMP AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

Exceptions: Either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm pending arbitration. Small claims court actions are exempt.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HiveAmp, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the App; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes not subject to arbitration (see Section 12) shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware. For questions, contact legal@hiveamp.com.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HiveAmp collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

What We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account info: Name, email, username, profile photo
  • Profile content: Bio, experience, skills, interests
  • User Content: Asks, solutions, messages, community activity

Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Features accessed, asks viewed, endorsements made
  • Device info: Device type, OS version, app version
  • Analytics: Crash reports and performance metrics via Firebase

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal grounds:

  • Contractual Necessity: Processing required to provide the Service you have requested
  • Legitimate Interests: Processing for our legitimate business interests, such as improving the platform and preventing fraud, where these interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Consent: Where you have given us explicit consent to process your data for a specific purpose
  • Legal Obligations: Processing required to comply with applicable laws and regulations

How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve HiveAmp services, match you with relevant communities, calculate reputation scores, send notifications you’ve opted into, respond to support requests, detect and prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

Information Sharing

Your profile, asks, and reputation are visible to community members. Direct messages are private. We use Firebase (Google) and other trusted providers who are contractually required to protect your data. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app. Certain information may be retained for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before complete deletion.

International Data Transfers

HiveAmp is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using HiveAmp, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection in the jurisdictions in which we process it.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security: data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, Firebase Security Rules enforcing access controls, regular security reviews, and limited employee access on a need-to-know basis. Report security vulnerabilities to security@hiveamp.com.

Your Privacy Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information in your profile settings
  • Deletion: Delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete Account
  • Portability: Request an export of your data
  • Opt-out: Manage notification preferences in Settings → Notifications
